Yerevan 2027: The Francophony Games, a Strategic Event for Armenia and French-speaking Cooperation

As the 2027 Francophony Games in Yerevan draw closer, a dynamic of cooperation is taking shape between Armenia and France around a central goal: to use major international events as a catalyst for promoting regional influence, infrastructure development, and sustainable growth.

As part of the visit to Armenia organized by MEDEF International, France Sport Expertise was pleased to participate in facilitating discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation between our two countries.

These discussions confirmed a shared conviction: beyond sector-specific opportunities, major multi-country, multi-sport, and multi-venue events are now powerful catalysts for transformation. They mobilize public and private ecosystems, strengthen local expertise, boost attractiveness, and project a strong image of the host country on the international stage.

From this perspective, Yerevan 2027 represents a major milestone for Armenia. The event is an opportunity to showcase a national ambition, enhance the country’s international visibility, and create a tangible legacy: organization, infrastructure, and expertise, as well as cooperation and economic diplomacy.

France Sport Expertise wishes to commend the quality of the work undertaken and the ongoing preparations, as well as the stated ambition, structured organization, and mobilization of local stakeholders, which demonstrate remarkable momentum.

We deeply believe in the potential of these events to bring people together and strengthen lasting partnerships. With recognized expertise in the design and delivery of major sporting and cultural events, the French sector stands alongside Armenia in a spirit of partnership, skills transfer, and operational support, in service of a project that holds meaning for youth and the Francophone world.

Together, let us build events that showcase nations and bring peoples closer together.

Opening Ceremonie D-500

With just 500 days to go before the opening ceremony, the French delegation’s presentation at the Ministry of Sports, Youth, and Community Life underscores the shift into a phase of heightened mobilization and the importance attached to this milestone.

Beyond the event itself, a path of cooperation is taking shape: working together to build responsible, inclusive projects capable of leaving a lasting legacy.
