Sport : a lever for growth and inclusion
France Sport Expertise took part in Ambition Africa 2025, THE leading economic event between France and Africa, organised by Business France on 18 and 19 November 2025 at the Ministry of Economy in Bercy.
Under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr Emmanuel Macron, this 7th edition brought together several hundred public and private decision-makers from more than 40 countries for round tables, conferences and B2B meetings dedicated to strengthening Franco-African economic cooperation.
Sophie Lorant, Executive Chair of France Sport Expertise, and Vincent de Bary, Chair of KENEO, spoke during a discussion on the theme of ‘Sport as a lever for growth and inclusion in Africa’. This session demonstrated how the Sport & Events Sector can work alongside African partners to support the development of ambitious, responsible sports projects rooted in local realities.
The importance of sport as a driver of economic growth, innovation, and social inclusion.
The presentations illustrated how major events, local infrastructure, talent development, spectator experience and hospitality can contribute to building sustainable sports ecosystems that create jobs and new opportunities for African youth, in line with the priorities of many countries on the continent.
France Sport Expertise, thanks to the efforts of its President and Mr de Bary (President of KENEO), also took advantage of these meetings to highlight the complementary nature of our members. It is this integrated approach that enables us to offer, together with our African partners, tailor-made solutions for a wide variety of projects: major events, infrastructure, sports for development programmes, training and inclusion through sport initiatives.
This participation in Ambition Africa is fully in line with France Sport Expertise’s ambition. We want to promote partnerships between African public authorities in all their diversity, co-develop high-impact sports projects and open up new opportunities for cooperation in sport, infrastructure, spectator experience, training and hospitality. Through this forum, the collective reaffirms its conviction that sport can be a real lever for development, innovation and positive impact for people and territories across the African continent as in France.
