At the French-Polish Talks on Sport, Infrastructure & Innovation, held in Warsaw under the patronage of the French Embassy in Poland, and with the participation of Business France Poland and La French Tech Warsaw, France Sport Expertise contributed to discussions regarding Poland’s bid for the 2040 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Alongside Robert Korzeniowski (advisor to the Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism), Aaron Cel (Sports Director of Legia Warszawa Basket), and Michał Banasiak (from the Polish Institute of Sports Diplomacy), Sophie Lorant, Executive President of France Sport Expertise, delivered a clear message: an Olympic and Paralympic bid cannot be won alone.

A long-term Polish ambition
Poland is progressively structuring its path toward a bid to host the Games by 2040, as part of a clear long-term preparation strategy. This approach is driven by the “Polish Sport Development Strategy 2040,” whose explicit goal is to position the country to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games through a process of dialogue with the IOC.
“Building Together”: The Difference-Making Strategy
Our discussions highlighted a key point: the credibility of a bid depends on the ability to bring people together, clarify roles, and align stakeholders over the long term, through the involvement of institutions, local communities, the entire sports movement, economic stakeholders, and our technical partners.
This is the essence of the message conveyed by France Sport Expertise: strong, effective, and aligned partnerships are a decisive factor for success, far beyond the mere promise of the event itself.
A French initiative ready to support the development of a bid for the 2040 project
France Sport Expertise underlined the willingness of its member companies to share their expertise and support Poland in developing a bid, by adopting an integrated approach that covers the entire value chain of major events: strategy and planning, infrastructure and engineering, technology, safety and security, hospitality, fan experience, and operational know-how.
The presence of members of the collective at the event, notably Spartner Event & Consulting and Eventeam Group, concretely demonstrated this ability to look ahead and contribute, alongside Polish stakeholders, to a structured, progressive, and credible approach.
